UPDATE: Walker became a Champion and is now retired from the ring. He's making babies! YEA, Walker!!! | KatsNjazz Love Walked In of Bizans "Walker" Born 10/2/08 Oooooohhhh, this is our beautiful boy from Kathryn Amann, KatsNjazz. Barb had borrowed Kathryn's boy
named Lover Come Back ("Lover" for short), whom I returned to Kathryn
after Barb died, and Kathryn offered us a kitten of hers to begin our new cattery -- a bright moment in such sad days, and so generous. So when we discussed this kitten, I said I wanted to name my first cat from her Rhapsody in Blue for his blue eyes, jazz is in her cattery name, and that's my favorite George Gershwin piece (that I used to play on the piano, but that's another story). But then Kathryn pointed out that his eyes are green-gold, not blue so she suggested Gershwin's song Love Walked In for a flip side of Lover Come Back! Perfect! (I think the way people come up with names is fascinating and often very clever.) Walker is going to be our stud boy for our gorgeous color girls. He's the ideal Turkey white, with those stunning bright eyes, and he has a loving, sweet disposition to pass along to progeny and give to his future home for life. (I can't bear to think of that right now; I'm too much in love with this guy. I might just "have to" keep him here.) Walker is a calm boy here at home -- playful, but with a sweet serenity about him somehow. But at the show hall!! MAN! He's a born showman. He seems to light up on the judges' tables, climbing the sisal-covered pole to the top and/or stealing the judge's toy and starting to make off with it! He just charms the judges and spectators alike. You can see formal photos of him in the Photos section above, then click on Formal. ![]() |

Bizans' Kazandibi "Dibi" Born 5/24/09 Dibi is our beautiful silver mackerel tabby stud boy -- for other breeders. He got his name after the first kitten in his litter was chosen and named Schnecken, a Jewish pastry. I now call the litter Just Desserts, and named Dibi for a traditional Turkish slightly burned coconut pudding, and his cameo-colored sister Krem Karamel, my favorite Turkish dessert that is like flan. Dibi is long and elegant, has no tarnish (brown on his nose), and like all of Barb's cats, is VERY affectionate. He loves touring around the house standing on or lying across our shoulders. His mom is Azima's Abra, and his dad is our beautiful cameo Azima's Cammy; and all of their wonderful traits just doubled into this boy. He is going to make BEAUTIFUL babies! I showed him at the CFA International Cat Show in Atlanta in 2009, where he won Best Turkish Angora Kitten in one ring and Third Best TA Kitten overall, in a group of 8! Pretty good! The photo at the upper right was taken at the hotel that weekend. Dibi as a several-weeks-old kitten. Have you EVER seen such a cute photo? | Dibi at a few months old. (Below) |

Zerrin Paren See? | Bastra's Sen Zerrin of Bizans June Edwards and Angela Varesano, of Bastra, graciously gave me this wonderful little boy, whom we named to follow their garden theme names for his litter. Sen means "merry" and Zerrin means "gold" and "jonquil"! He's 1/4 Russian, so he speaks with a bit of an accent. And the fur coat?!? To die for! Zerrin was born just a couple of months before our Latte and Red Star, so he plays wiser, older brother to those two. Flash accepted him immediately. Thank heaven! Zerrin is so funny! Whenever we walk by or put a hand out, he loves to flop into his side and S T R E T C H, arching his back and turning himself into a giant parenthesis, just begging to have his tummy rubbed -- and I think just plain showing off because no one else can do it so elegantly as he can! Maybe he's doing a Bolshoi ballet dancer thing. Our plans as he matures are to introduce him to a couple of our girls and see what beautiful babies they can produce. Then later he'll be looking for a wonderful new, forever home. Lucky home, because he is such a sweetie. In the meantime, we're enjoying this little clown SO MUCH! |
